Question 1

What are stock videos?

Accepted Answer

Stock videos, also known as stock footage, are pre-recorded video clips shot by professional videographers that you can license and use in your own projects. Rather than filming your own footage from scratch, stock video saves you time and money.
On Uppbeat, our stock video library is built for creators. You'll have access to high-quality clips covering everything from sweeping landscapes to everyday lifestyle moments. Every clip is pre-cleared and ready to drop into your timeline.

Question 2

Are stock videos copyright free?

Accepted Answer

While most stock videos aren't technically "copyright free" as the creator still owns the copyright, all videos on Uppbeat are royalty-free and pre-cleared so you can use them in your projects with clarity and confidence.
When you download a video from Uppbeat, you get a license that gives you the right to use the footage in your content without worrying about copyright claims or royalties. Just make sure you're on the right plan for your use case.

Question 3

Can I use stock videos on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube?

Accepted Answer

Yes! Uppbeat stock videos can be used across YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and other social media platforms. Whether you're publishing short-form content, long-form videos or sponsored posts, you're covered.
A couple of things to keep in mind: monetized content (e.g. YouTube ad revenue, sponsored posts) is covered on all paid plans. For paid ads or client work, freelancers and solo professionals need Uppbeat Pro, and companies, brands, and agencies need Uppbeat Business — both include the extended commercial license.

Question 4

Can I use Uppbeat Stock Video for commercial use?

Accepted Answer

Yes — but it depends on the type of commercial use.
Online content (including monetized videos, sponsored posts and social media) is covered across our paid plans. If you create paid advertising or content for clients, you'll need the extended license: Uppbeat Pro if you're a freelancer or solo professional, or Uppbeat Business if you're a company, brand, or agency.

Question 5

Where can I get free stock videos?

Accepted Answer

You can get free stock videos right here on Uppbeat.
Our library includes a selection of free clips you can download and use without a paid subscription! No watermarks, no hidden catches. To find which video clips are free, just look for the videos without the star icon. For full access to our complete library of premium HD and 4K footage, you'll need a paid plan.

Question 6

Do you offer motion graphics and LUTs?

Accepted Answer

Yes! Alongside stock video, Uppbeat offers a growing library of Motion Graphics and LUTs to level up your edits. Motion graphics include titles, transitions, overlays, and other animated elements, available as drag & drop clips or customizable templates for Premiere Pro, After Effects, and DaVinci Resolve. LUTs are color presets that let you apply a cinematic grade to your footage in seconds, and they download as .cube files compatible with all major editing software.
