Uppbeat, the freemium music platform for YouTubers and content creators, has today launched a unique moment-driven collection of sound effects and clips, adding to its copyright-free catalog of high-quality music for creators.

Becoming the first sound effects library built exclusively for content creators, this marks the first major update from the Leeds, UK, startup that recently surpassed a landmark 200,000 users after launching at the beginning of January, 2021.

Working with Uppbeat artists, and partnering with leading SFX company SmartSound FX, as well as high-end sound designers and experienced voiceover artists, Uppbeat has curated a unique collection of sound effects and iconic clips for subscribers to Uppbeat Premium.

Uppbeat’s moment-driven library is inspired by deep research into the creative moments when YouTubers add clips and sounds to their content. The library answers a clear demand for meme-style sounds, which are currently being used illegitimately online.

Tapping into user search data, Uppbeat identified a common theme of people searching for these iconic sounds & recognizable clips from famous movies, TV shows and viral memes. While these sounds are ubiquitous in creator content, they’re often used without permission.

At a time when creators are more concerned than ever about copyright infringement, Uppbeat has created copyright-free versions of the iconic sounds loved by YouTubers, which they can use without fear of copyright strikes or demonetization of content.

Lewis Foster, CEO, Uppbeat said: “In this climate, where creators fear copyright issues and question what they can and can’t use in their content, Uppbeat’s sound effects and clip library is the worry-free resource that creators have been crying out for.

“For the first time, creators have access to copyright-free versions of iconic sounds such as Thug Life skits, FPS video game one-liners and X-Files mystery music. Uppbeat is all about giving creators easy, worry-free access to high quality music, sound effects and clips.

“Compared to more-literal sound libraries and dense databases that cater for pro video production, our library is designed to be different. It’s full of sounds for fun moments loved by creators, of course while offering all the core sounds typically used in their content.”

Uppbeat has implemented its industry-leading categorisation systems, new smart filters and a bespoke browsing interface that’s designed to both inspire creative moments and intuitively help you find the perfect sound for your content.

The library launches with a collection of core sounds and will continue to grow with new updates being added on a regular basis. Uppbeat also intends to add a unique ‘soundboard’ feature, which will put streamers’ favourite sounds at their fingertips in the future.

Uppbeat is about to seek a series A investment in its bid to become the world’s go-to resource for creators seeking high-quality music, sound effects and clips for their content.
